Rainy Season Arrives

Damn rainy season. It has arrived and the City is awash with water. Unless you try and get it out of taps, which is a hit and miss affair. At Easter we had no water for much of the day, with the supply being cut sometimes as easrly as 8am and remaining off until as late as 10pm. It’s not been that bad since, but it is regularly being cut off for long periods during the day, usually when you need it the most! The fact that Mexico City recycles just 10% of it’s water (compared to 90% in London) doesn’t help the chronic water sortages we have here.

Anyway, rainy season lasts a couple of months, and although it’s mostly meant to fall in the evenings, this last week it’s been coming down all day. It started early this year too. Boo!

Still, the temperature is still warm, the water at least cleans the pollution from the air, and there are usually plenty of long, sunny, blue sky intervals. Just not this week…
