Water Scarcity

I’ve posted a few times regarding the chronic water shortages we experience in Mexico City. It hasn’t been too bad lately, but there are times when the water goes off without warning for most of the day, day after day. Very depressing if you are about to go to work and have been doing something sweaty…

The Beeb have a map up showing the world’s water supply situation which makes for interesting reading. I do appear to be slap bang in an Orange Zone, which is no surprise. What is sad is that the city recycles just 10% of it’s water (as opposed to London which recycles over 90%), and the streets are often overflowing with the stuff during rainy season. Which does last six months…
