Only four days to go and I shall be clambering up Mexico’s third largest mountain, Iztaccihuatl…it’s all quite exciting really! Everything is planned, including the hiring of a guide to collect us from Mexico City and take us to the mountain before showing us the way up. They have all the specialist equipment too. As they should at 1,500 pesos per person!
It’s going to be a two day trip, starting on Saturday morning with the drive and a hike up to a hut at 3,000 metres. Then at 4am on Sunday we’re all making the effort on the summit – between 5 to 7 of us, excluding the guide himself.
Of course, as I’ve mentioned a few times, I’m also raising a little money for charity! WildCoast to be precise. So far I’m up to $145, all raised online. So if you fancy contributing something, no matter how small, please feel free!Just click on the Chip In button and you can give a little by PayPal or credit/debit card. I am being a bit hopeful yes, but I live in hope!
And incidentally, I already have an idea of what to do for next year’s big event…but that’s a secret for now!
