Mexico City’s metro system is a superb mode of transport. Quick, clean (usually) and cheap as chips, it covers pretty much everywhere in the city you would want to go to. But I have a bit of a beef with it at the moment.
They’ve managed to run out of metro cards. These little credit card sized pieces of plastic make getting about by metro so much easier. Less queuing to buy the paper tickets. Much less queuing to get through the entry styles – they are regularly out of order to paper ticket carrying commuters because they get jammed, but us flash, hip and trendy card carriers can just swipe and go through.
I lost my metro card a month back, and in all that time, I’ve not found a single metro station with them on sale. And I’ve looked, I really have. Stoopido pendejos!
