I didn’t let my little tumble put me off getting back on my back and zooming round the Ciclothon circuit on Sunday. Although the fact that there was no electricity and water did rather leave me with little else to do.
Last week I walked through parts of the Centro Historico which have been restored somewhat – this week I cycled through areas that haven’t. Which is a shame, as there are some fabulous buildings that have clearly been neglected for some time.
Ailments range from peeling paint to outright abandonment, so hopefully Mr Slim was out on his bike checking out the property scene in this part of town. There’s a lot of scope to turn lots of the still to be regenerated Centro Historico into very trendy and chic neighbourhoods.
I liked the photo I got below, which shows a couple of buildings desperately in need of a lick of paint, with a brightly coloured Comex paint store sitting idly by.
