The Jacarandas Are Here

Every year I make the same post. For the same reason. The Jacaranda trees are blooming and painting a vivid splash of lavender across  the grey of the city. It’;s dry. And warm. It’s my favourite time of year.

  1. Gary – As trees go they have to be one of the loveliest! Thanks for the photo.

  2. Absolutely beautiful. I used to live in Orange County, California and that is the first place I ever saw them.

  3. I wish they were easier to photograph! They really paint the city purple in places, but the camera never quite captures what the eye can see…

The jacarandas are one of the things I love about DF. There are streets in Condesa which end up covered with fallen flowers, creating a purple carpet. Lovely.

    Thanks for the post.

Where we are still waiting for the crocuses which should show up in 3-4 more weeks.

    • I remember crocuses. And snowdrops. Bluebells too, although you have to look for them. Seems such a long time ago now! I’ll stick with the Jacarandas, for one more year at least!
