Bellas Artes

Visited the monumental piece of architecture yesterday that is Bellas Artes – Palace of the Arts. I’ve seen it plenty of times from the outside, and from the foyer, and it’s grand sight from wherever you are standing.

The inside however is absolutely breathtaking. Red wine cloured marble everywhere, fantastic detailing and a decorative stained glass circle thing (forgotten the correct word – copela maybe?) set in the domed ceiling.

We paid 330 pesos to see the wonderful Mexican ballet (then another 50 pesos each to bribe the usher for a box!), but the entrance fee was worth it just to see the interior!

The ballet just added itself to my list of ‘Must Do’s’ when making recommendations, so go visit! You won’t be disappointed.
