Spring In Mexico City

Tis my favourite time of year in Mexico City. The climate here is easily described. For 6 months, April to October-ish is summer. Hot, but rainy. Rainy in the evenings anyways. The other six months is slightly cooler, almost (but not quite!) cool enough late at evening/early morning to be considered cold. But the daytime is usually pleasant. It’s also dry.

Right now, and for a month or two, it is warming up nicely and dry. The best combination of all! The pollution that gathers and is trapped in the Valle de Mexico in December, January and February is dissipating as well.

there is something else that I like at this time of year too. The city is home to countless Jacarinda trees which are now coming into blossom, bathing the city in a flood of lavender. It’s a little windy at times as well, and before you know it there is a carpet of lavender underfoot as well.

The city has a wonderful climate really. Never too hot, never cold, always a good chance of seeing and feeling the sun.
