I went to Xochimilco II today with Paola, her dad et al to buy some water lettuces for the turtles pool. Xoxhimilco is an area in Mexico City, but the name is often used to refer to the famous canals – the Venice of Mexico City. The canals themselves make growing flowers easy, and so, not surprisingly there is a huge flower and plant market there. There is also one near us, fed from the same canals, but a few miles from it’s more famous other half. And while we were there, we came across a cafe with a flock (?) of parrots entertaining the locals.
