Diario Protest

When people in Mexico get upset, there’s only one thing to do – start a protest! I can’t be a judge as to which protests are justified and which aren’t, I can merely photograph them and report on what their complaint is! This week protesters are camping outside the Diaro Monitor, a media company based in Ninos Heroes, and have plastered its entrance with hand written posters and print outs. They, I believe, have two complaints!

Apparantly the Monitor has closed a radio station that had been on air for 33 years. The Monitor claims that ex President Fox and the incumbent, Felipe Calderon, have forced them out of business. The protesters are staff who have been laid off and are venting their fury at the closure – also blaming the government, or so I’m told. They are also unhappy with the Monitor, who haven’t paid them what is owed!
