Cara de Niño Season…

Black Widows are a pretty unwelcome visitor to your yard (or more precisely – my yard) but the season is here for the ugliest scariest bug of them all – the Cara de Niño, or ‘Baby Face’. We had a couple stroll around the yard last year, and the year before that one of the buggers got into the house. There are some good myths going about just how venomous and lethal is there bite. In fact they are not poisonous at all, but do have a nasty bite to them. Not this one though – not anymore anyway….

I just looked the little critter up on Wiki, and apparantly they are more often called, in English anyway, the Jerusalem Cricket, even though they are not actually crickets.
