The Zocalo Gardens

Over the last year the face of the Zocalo has been changing continually, not least because they keep putting up temporary exhibitions/ice skating rinks and the like. But they have made one welcome addition – some gardens. Once upon a time, the Zocalo used to have a load of gardens and a tram system – so it would appear from the old photos and paintings I have seen. They have so far put flower beds in one corner of the square, and I swear some new statues and busts too. Unless I am imagining things. I’m sure Cuauhtemoc is a new addition though.
