Because it would make geeting to the top of Iztaccihuatl an awful lot easier. And I’de be able to get some good overhead photos of the mountain too. But I can’t fly, so I’m going to have to do it the old fashioned way. By foot.
And the day has very almost come. I leave tomorrow for a midday rendevouz with the rest of the team, and then we drive to the mountain. We’ll climb to about 3,000 metres and camp overnight before setting off for the summit at 4 in the morning.
