Ciudadela de Artesans

Everyone loves a colourful piece of traditional Chinese made Mexican handicraft. You can find the stuff everywhere, from cheap bits of touristy junk in a mercado, to lavishly priced and sometimes genuinely hand made items in the Museo de Arte Populars gift shop. Then there is the Ciudadela de Artesans, near the San Juan museum (see my previous post for directions – if you find one, you’ll be able to find the other) which is a positively cavernous cave of fibre, metal, wood and paint, all melded, welded and woven together to form fabulous bits and bobs to overwhelm every window sill in your home.masks
