Alice in Wonderland came up in conversation the other day. Verbal or virtual conversation, I don’t quite recall. I suspect the latter, as I still have an open window on this photography. It’s of a girl called Alice. Alice Liddell, to be precise. She was one of the girls that Lewis Carroll first told (a very early version of..) the Alice in Wonderland story to. Is she the Alice? I do not know. But what a charming, and very old photograph this is, in its own right.
