There are several Victorian era arcades in my area. The nicest one of the lot, in my opinion, is also my local. Filled with coffee shops, restaurants, clothes stores, art galleries, an old newsagent and the smallest cinema in the world. Well, probably the smallest cinema in the world.
Above each shop is an apartment. I’ve always fancied living in one of those apartments. Aside from the picturesque view, it’s nice to be in the heart of a town. To have a birds eye view on daily life. To be a social peeping tom. But the apartments are neither spacious nor cheap. I will probably continue to live on the outskirts of town for the foreseeable future.
