Winners and Losers
The coronavirus will be a boon to some businesses and a disaster for others. Some of the winners will have to wait a while to see any benefits. The losers will likely have been feeling the pain from day one.
One loser, albeit only temporarily, will be the hairdresser and barber industry. For several years I’ve been getting my hair cut in a local salon by an attractive Italian lady called Annalise. The salon closed down recently. I have no idea where she went, but I don’t imagine her departure was as dramatic as some of my previous hairdressers.
One winner will be the hair clipper manufacture industry and the online delivery business. I bought a set from Amazon last week. Neither Mrs P nor I have any training at cutting hair, so I did the simple thing. Fitted the grade 2 attachment and cut it short. I’ve only ever had a cut this short before, on my first full day in the Royal Air Force.
It’s not my favourite cut. I normally go for a grade 6. But cutting it real short it is hugely fashionable just at the moment. This will, I’m sure, be referred to as the Corona cut.
