#THROWBACKTHURSDAY

This photo isn’t as old as one would normally expect for a #tbt shot. I took it at the end of February, little more than a month ago. Mrs P and I, along with a couple of friends, went to London for the day. It seems like a lifetime ago. Just look at all those people walking freely about without a care in the world.

The coronavirus had already been in the UK for a month, but on the day this photo was taken, there were just 23 confirmed cases. The first fatality would occur three or four days later. Nonetheless, there was a certain tension in the air. The virus was still raging in China, and Italy had seen 29 deaths.

There was an appreciation that this could soon turn rather bad. I certainly thought so. I wasn’t wrong.
