The easing of the coronavirus restrictions means that boring old men may Later this week resume their odd preoccupation of belting small white balls around manicured lawns In the hope of it falling into  a small hole. As a result, Parkstone golf club, the rather lovely setting for many of our recent walks, is closing to the general public.

We are greatly saddened by this, as we apparently come under the term ‘general public’. And given that the cost of membership runs into the thousands, it is unlikely that our lowly status will change in the near future. Farewell, Parkstone golf club. It was nice to know you.
