National Palace

We had some time to kill before the World Cup final kicked off, so we visited the National Palace (map), the official home of the president’s offices, and the number one location to visit if you’re interested in Diego Rivera murals. There are walls covered with them, and make the visit worthwhile all by themselves. At the moment, you can’t enter through the main doors at the front of the palace from the Zocalo due to renovations, but if you stroll down the left hand side, you’ll find an entrance.

The photo below is a panorama I took with my Fuji HS10. It has a panaorama stitcher built in. I didn’t use that however – like many of it’s more gimmicky functions, it’s a bit…well, gimmicky. Although it has to be said, unlike some of the other ‘magic’ settings, it can produce a good result in the right situation. The rest of the photos can be found on Flickr by clicking here.
