Music is a big part of Mexico City. Doesn’t matter where you exactly in the city you are, but especially in the Centro Historico, a solo musician or an entire band may set up stall, plug in their amps and blast out some hits. Mariachi classics, Queen or the Beatles. The latter are big favourites. And whilst there are some that genuinely, truly and sincerely suck, there are plenty that are really rather good. Excellent, even.
The trouble is, sometimes you’ve picked a spot to sit down and have a quite chat, only to find that any chance of conversation is drowned out by a stirring rendition of Hey Jude or Get Back. As was the case at yesterdays teachers get together. Such is life. I grabbed a few photos – click here.

Nice photos, especially that one of Stella.
That band was more enjoyable when they were playing a softer blues/jazz set. Got a little loud when they switched over to 60’s loud.

Glad you liked it! And yeah, soft blues and jazz is far better stuff to sit and chat with as background music!
