What you’re looking at there is part of Poole Harbour, a large natural harbour on the south coast. Humans have had settlements here since before the Romans turned up – a 2000 year old log boat has been extracted from its waters. These days it provides sanctuary for the yachts of the wealthy, and for the red squirrels of Brownsea Island.
